Abstract:

NEW YORK (Standard&Poor's) Jan. 30, 2009--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services today lowered its long-term ratings on Tyco Electronics Ltd. and Tyco Electronics Group S.A. The corporate credit rating on Tyco Electronics Ltd. was lowered to 'BBB-' from 'BBB', and the rating outlook is negative. At the same time, we lowered the short-term corporate credit and commercial paper ratings on the company to 'A-3' from 'A-2'. "The ratings downgrade reflects a sharp falloff in revenues and operating profitability in the December 2008 quarter, which we believe will not be reversed over the near term, and which could lead to substantially increased debt leverage in coming quarters," said Standard&Poor's credit analyst Bruce Hyman.
