GrandLinq G.P. was selected to design, build, finance, operate, and maintain the Waterloo Light Rail (LRT) project. Construction started in May 2014 and the GrandLinq remains on track to complete construction of the operations, maintenance, and storage facility (OMSF) and the test track June 1, 2016. Operations are scheduled to start July 28, 2017. Peter Kiewit Infrastructure Co. and Aecon Construction and Materials Ltd. are members of the design-build joint venture (DBJV) on a joint and several basis. Keolis Grand River L.P. (OM&R service provider) will be responsible for providing operating services for the first 10 years of operations (but could be extended by subsequent five-year increments) and will be responsible for providing maintenance and lifecycle service for the first
