...WASHINGTON D.C. (S&P Global Ratings) Feb. 27, 2017--S&P Global Ratings today assigned its '###' issue-level rating to Textron Inc.'s proposed unsecured notes due 2027. The company expects to use the proceeds from this issuance for general corporate purposes. We do not believe that the proposed transaction will significantly alter Textron's credit metrics; therefore all of our other ratings on the company remain unchanged. Our corporate credit rating on Textron reflects the company's well-diversified product portfolio, its leading market positions in its main markets, and its exposure to the cyclical and competitive aviation, automotive, and industrial markets. We expect the company's credit ratios to improve steadily over the next two years on higher deliveries of new business jet models, increased deliveries of wheeled armored vehicles, and good demand in most of its industrial markets.
