TORONTO (Standard&Poor's) Sept. 26, 2007--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services today said it affirmed its 'BBB+' ratings on Vancouver, B.C.-based communication services provider Telus Corp. and removed the ratings from CreditWatch with negative implications, where they were placed June 21, 2007. The outlook is stable. The action follows both the June 26, 2007, public announcement that Telus will not submit a bid to acquire BCE Inc. (BB-/Watch Neg/--), and the Sept. 21, 2007, announcement that shareholders of BCE Inc. have approved the privatization of the company, which further reduces the likelihood of a competing bid from Telus.
