We are assigning our 'A-2' global short-term rating to Talisman Energy Inc. We are also assigning our 'A-2' rating to the company's US$1 billion commercial paper program. The ratings reflect our assessment of Talisman's liquidity and ability to maintain a 100% backstop for all commercial paper maturities on a same-day basis. We expect the company will remain onside with our liquidity criteria for all short-term debt issuances at the 'A-2' rating level. TORONTO (Standard&Poor's) Nov. 7, 2011--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services today said it assigned its 'A-2' global short-term rating to Calgary, Alta.-based Talisman Energy Inc. At the same time, Standard&Poor's assigned its 'A-2' global scale rating to the company's US$1 billion commercial paper (CP) program.
