SAN FRANCISCO (Standard&Poor's) Jan. 22, 2009-- Standard&Poor's Ratings Services said today that it corrected its long-term ratings and underlying ratings (SPUR) on Tacoma, Wash.'s series 2001A and series 2006 sewer revenue and refunding bonds. The ratings were raised to 'AA+' from 'AA'. Although the bonds are on parity with other obligations secured by the city's net sewer revenues, we inadvertently did not include them in a rating action on Nov. 17, 2008, in which we raised our ratings on the city's other obligations. For more information, see the report titled "130 Municipal Water And Sewer Issuers Are Upgraded After Recent Criteria Revision" published Nov. 17, 2008, on RatingsDirect.
