S&P Global Ratings raised its rating to 'AA' from 'AA-' on West Allis-West Milwaukee School District (SD), Wis.' outstanding general obligation (GO) debt. At the same time, we assigned our 'AA' rating to the district's $70 million series 2025 GO promissory notes. The outlook is stable. The rating reflects our application of our " Methodology For Rating U.S. Governments," published Sept. 9, 2024, on RatingsDirect. The upgrade reflects our view of the district's maintenance of a high level of financial performance and management practices that we believe are comparable to those of 'AA' rated peers. The bonds are secured by the district's unlimited ad valorem tax GO pledge. The bonds were approved by voters for districtwide school facility improvement projects.
