Standard&Poor's Ratings Services assigned its 'SP-1+' rating to $118 million of the University of Pittsburgh, Pa.'s PANTHERS notes, series 2007. In addition, Standard&Poor's affirmed its 'AA' rating on the university's long-term debt. The outlook is stable. The 'SP-1+' rating on the PANTHERS notes is based on the university's history of strong market access and underlying credit strengths. In addition, the 'A-1+' short-term rating on the university's outstanding variable-rate debt is affirmed and reflects the presence of liquidity support provided by external standby bond purchase agreements.
