Standard&Poor's Ratings Services affirmed its 'AA' long-term rating on South Plainfield Borough, N.J.'s general obligation (GO) debt based on its local GO criteria published Sept. 12, 2013. The outlook is stable. The borough's full faith and GO credit pledge secure the bonds. The rating reflects our opinion of the following factors for the borough: South Plainfield Borough's economy is, in our opinion, very strong, with per capita market value and projected per capita effective buying income at roughly $155,550 and 120% of the national averages, respectively. The borough encompasses an 8.2-square-mile section of Middlesex County. It is a developed suburban community with access to New York City's employment base.
