S&P Global Ratings assigned its 'SP-1+' short-term rating to South Plainfield Borough, N.J.'s approximately $8.866 million series 2025A general obligation (GO) bond anticipation notes (BANs). At the same time, S&P Global Ratings affirmed its 'AA' long-term rating on the borough's GO debt based on the application of its criteria, "Methodology For Rating U.S. Governments," published Sept. 9, 2024, on RatingsDirect. S&P Global Ratings also affirmed its 'SP-1+' short-term rating on the borough's existing GO BANs. The outlook on the long-term rating is stable. South Plainfield's full-faith-and-credit pledge and agreement to levy ad valorem property taxes, without limitation as to rate or amount, secure the GO bonds and BANs.
