Standard&Poor's Ratings Services assigned its 'AA+' rating, and stable outlook, to San Antonio, Texas' series 2006 GO general improvement and refunding bonds and series 2006 combination tax and revenue certificates of obligation. The rating reflects the city's: Continued strong and diverse economy, Strong financial management with a comprehensive long-term financial program, and Strong financial performance and position. An overall moderate debt burden, coupled with significant capital needs, is an offsetting credit factor. The city's full faith and credit pledge secures the bonds and certificates. San Antonio, with about 1.3 million residents, is Bexar County's seat and the nation's seventh-largest city.
