Standard&Poor's Ratings Services assigned its 'AA-' long-term rating to Oak Park Village, Ill.'s series 2012A general obligation (GO) corporate purpose bonds and series 2012B taxable GO corporate purpose refunding bonds. We also affirmed our 'AA-' long-term rating and underlying rating (SPUR) on the village's previously issued GO debt. The outlook is stable. The rating reflects our assessment of the village's: Participation in the diverse Chicago metropolitan area economy; Very strong income and market value per capita indicators; and Moderate overall debt burden as a percentage of market value. The village's weakened unreserved fund balance and weak liquidity temper these strengths, in our opinion. The bonds are general obligations of the village, and are backed by unlimited ad valorem
