S&P Global Ratings assigned its 'A+' long-term rating and stable outlook to McKinleyville Union School District, Calif.'s series 2019 general obligation (GO) refunding bonds and affirmed its 'A+' underlying rating (SPUR), with a stable outlook, on the district's existing GO debt. Revenue from unlimited ad valorem taxes levied on all taxable property within the district secures the GO bonds. Humboldt County Board of Supervisors has the power and obligation to levy these taxes for bond repayment at the district's request. The county is required to deposit such taxes, when collected, into the bonds' debt-service fund.
