Abstract:

S&P Global Ratings' long-term rating on various health care revenue bonds outstanding issued on behalf of University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) is 'A'. S&P Global Ratings long-term rating on Maryland Health&Higher Education Facilities Authority's (MHHEFA) series 2008D variable-rate revenue bonds is 'AA+/A-1+', which reflects the application of our low-correlation joint criteria. The outlook is stable. A revenue pledge of the obligated group secures the bonds. The obligated group includes all of UMMS' wholly owned acute-care hospitals. Nonobligated members include its owned physician practices; and a joint venture, Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital, which UMMS owns jointly with Johns Hopkins Health System, among other subsidiaries. The rating on the series 2008D bonds reflects the application of our low-correlation joint
