S&P Global Ratings assigned its 'SP-1+' short-term rating to Hudson County Improvement Authority, N.J.'s series 2020B county-guaranteed pooled notes, consisting of tax-exempt series 2020B-1 and federally taxable series 2020B-2 notes, issued for Hudson County, and affirmed its 'SP-1+' short-term rating on the authority's existing notes. At the same time, S&P Global Ratings also affirmed its 'AA' long-term rating, with a stable outlook, on Hudson County's general obligation (GO) debt and the authority's GO-backed debt and its 'AA-' long-term rating and underlying rating (SPUR), with a stable outlook, on the county's appropriation-backed obligations. Officials intend to use series 2020B governmental-pooled note proceeds to make loans to certain municipal borrowers--including Bayonne, Weehawken Township, and Union City--to finance capital projects and renew notes;
