Standard&Poor's Ratings Services has assigned its 'SP-1+' short-term rating to the City of Fitchburg, Mass.' series B general obligation (GO) bond anticipation notes (dated June 27, 2014). At the same time, Standard&Poor's has affirmed its 'A+' rating on the city's GO bonds. The outlook is stable. The short-term note rating reflects our criteria for evaluating and rating bond anticipation notes. In our view, Fitchburg maintains a very strong capacity to pay principal and interest when the notes come due.
