The 'BBB-' corporate credit rating for Rosemead, Calif.-based holding company Edison International reflects the consolidated credit quality of Edison's family of companies. These companies consist of regulated electric utility Southern California Edison Co. ('BBB+/Stable'), which provides retail electric service to more than 4.9 million customers throughout most of Southern California as of Dec. 31, 2007; Edison Mission Group Inc. (not rated), which is the parent of Edison Capital (not rated); and of Edison Mission Energy, or EME ('BB-/Stable'), an independent power producer with ownership or leasehold interest in 28 power plants totaling 9,453 MW of capacity at year-end 2007.
