Standard&Poor's Ratings Services has revised its outlook on East Kentucky Power Cooperative Inc. (EKPC) to positive from stable. At the same time Standard&Poor's affirmed its 'BBB' issuer credit rating on the cooperative. The revised outlook reflects our view of a track record of stronger debt service coverage ratios, more favorable leverage ratios, and the Kentucky Public Service Commission's (KPSC) decision to end its comprehensive management review of the utility based on its assessment that the cooperative's actions improved financial and operational controls. EKPC is a generation and transmission (G&T) cooperative. Its 16 member distribution cooperatives serve more than 521,000 retail customers in 87 of Kentucky's 120 counties.
