The ratings on District of Columbia's and Georgetown University's bonds, issued for Georgetown University, are placed on CreditWatch with positive implications pending the consummation of an announced partnership between Georgetown University and MedStar Health, one of the largest and most comprehensive delivery systems in the mid-Atlantic region. Under the terms of the signed agreement, the clinical components at Georgetown University Medical Center (GUMC) will be operated as part of MedStar Health. Those components consist of Georgetown University Hospital, the Community Practice Network, and the clinical practice activities of the Faculty Practice Group.
