About This Report

Abstract:

The rating on the District of Columbia's notes is based on an irrevocable direct-pay LOC issued severally by National Westminster Bank PLC and Soci‚t‚ G‚n‚rale. The LOC covers principal and interest on the notes from their issue date through maturity and expires on Oct. 6, 1997. The notes are not subject to redemption prior to maturity. Note proceeds will be used to finance the district's general governmental expenses in anticipation of the receipt of revenues for fiscal 1997.
