Stanley Black&Decker Inc.'s Senior Unsecured Notes Rated 'A'

NEW YORK (S&P Global Ratings) March 1, 2023--S&P Global Ratings today assigned its 'A' issue-level rating to Stanley Black&Decker Inc.'s (A/Negative/A-1) proposed senior unsecured notes with three- and five-year maturities. We expect the company to use the proceeds to repay its commercial paper borrowing. The debt rating is in line with the issuer credit rating. Our other ratings and outlook on Stanley are unchanged. The negative outlook reflects prolonged elevated leverage and our view that a deep and protracted profit decline could further exacerbate already aggressive metrics.
