NEW YORK (S&P Global Ratings) Nov. 7, 2016--S&P Global Ratings said today it raised its issue-level rating on Stanley Black&Decker Inc.'s $345 million subordinated notes due November 2018 to 'A-' from 'BBB+'. The notes, which were originally issued as junior subordinated notes as part of the equity units issued in November 2013, are currently being remarketed. The remarketed notes will have a priority ranking as subordinated notes, rather than the previous ranking of junior subordinated. As a result of the higher ranking, as well as the absence of any interest deferral options in the remarketed notes, we are raising the rating on the notes to 'A-', one notch below the corporate credit rating.
