NY -- Standard&Poor's CreditWire 10/3/97 -- Standard&Poor's today assigned its double-'A'-minus Standard&Poor's Underlying Rating (SPUR) to Hamilton County, Ohio's $107.45 million sewer system improvement revenue bonds series 1997A. The bonds are scheduled to sell Oct. 6, 1997. The rating reflects the following strengths: --Continued strong financial and operational performance, -- A stable regional economy anchored by the city of Cincinnati (rated double-'A'-plus), and --Competitive rates. Another factor also reflected in the rating is a sizeable $441 million five-year capital improvement plan (CIP) which will primarily address combined sewer overflows (CSO) and treatment plant upgrades.
