NY -- Standard&Poor's CreditWire 1/2/96 -- Standard&Poor's raises its ratings on Scott Paper Co.'s senior debt to double-`A' from single-`A'- minus and commercial paper to `A-1'-plus from `A-2' and removes the ratings from CreditWatch, where they were placed July 24, 1995. This action follows the recent completion of the mostly equity-financed acquisition of Scott Paper by Kimberly Clark Corp., which is assuming Scott Paper's debt. Additionally, Standard&Poor's affirms its ratings on Kimberly Clark's as follows: -- Senior debt at double-`A'; and -- Commercial paper at `A-1'-plus. The outlook is stable.
