Abstract:

TORONTO (Standard&Poor's) Jan. 10, 2013--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services has corrected its ratings on two Bank of Nova Scotia senior unsecured debt issuances, including the US$10 million senior unsecured notes series A due 2019 and US$1 billion senior unsecured notes due 2017, to 'A+' from 'AA-'. Standard&Poor's should have lowered the ratings Dec. 13, 2012, when we lowered the other ratings we have on the bank (for more information, see "Research Update: The Bank of Nova Scotia Ratings Lowered To 'A+/A-1' On Rising Industry And Economic Risk In Canada; Outlook Is Stable," published Dec. 13, 2012, on RatingsDirect on the Global Credit Portal).
