S&P Global Ratings assigned its'A+'long-term rating to Story City , Iowa’s anticipated $1.6 million series 2026B general obligation (GO) sewer improvement bonds. At the same time, we affirmed our'A+'long-term rating on the city’s GO debt outstanding. The outlook is stable. Story City’s unlimited tax GO pledge secures the new and existing GO bonds. Officials intend to use the series 2026B bond proceeds to complete financing for the city’s wastewater treatment plant project. The rating reflects Story City’s history of positive operating performance and its level of reserves, which, while nominally thin, remain strong as a percentage of the budget.
