Abstract:

We are assigning our 'gcAA+' Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) regional scale rating to Al Rajhi Bank (ARB). The regional scale rating reflects our 'BBB+' long-term issuer credit rating on ARB. We do not assign outlooks to regional scale ratings. On July 29, 2021, S&P Global Ratings assigned its 'gcAA+' Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) regional scale rating to Saudi Arabia-based Al Rajhi Bank (ARB). The 'gcAA+' GCC regional scale rating on ARB reflects our 'BBB+' long-term issuer credit rating on the bank. ARB has been one of the main beneficiaries of Saudi Arabia's efforts to promote home ownership via housing finance, and the bank will keep expanding over the next few years. We believe that this growth will be balanced and
