We equalize our ratings on Wirtschafts- Und Infrastrukturbank Hessen (WIBank) with those on the German State of Hesse because we see an almost certain likelihood that Hesse would provide extraordinary financial support to WIBank if necessary, given its critical role for and integral link with the state. We are therefore affirming our 'AA/A-1+' ratings on WIBank. The positive outlook mirrors the outlook on Hesse, and incorporates our view that any rating actions on Hesse would therefore also trigger a similar rating action on WIBank, all else remaining unchanged. On Oct. 19, 2017, S&P Global Ratings affirmed its 'AA' long-term and 'A-1+' short-term issuer credit ratings on the German state development bank Wirtschafts- Und Infrastrukturbank Hessen (WIBank). The outlook is positive.
