On Jan. 26, 2006, Standard&Poor's Ratings Services revised its outlook on Credit Suisse Group (CSG) to positive from stable. At the same time, the 'A/A-1' long- and short-term counterparty credit ratings on CSG were affirmed. In addition, Standard&Poor's revised the outlooks on its core operating subsidiaries Credit Suisse, Credit Suisse (International) Holding AG, Credit Suisse (USA) Inc., Credit Suisse Holdings (USA) Inc., and Credit Suisse International to positive from stable. Furthermore, the 'A+/A-1' long- and short-term counterparty credit ratings on these subsidiaries were affirmed. The positive outlook on CSG reflects the major and sustained improvement in its profitability, and consequent enhancement in capitalization, which should benefit further following a divestment of Winterthur Swiss Insurance Co.
