About This Report

Abstract:

On Oct. 29, 2021, BancorpSouth Bank completed its merger with Cadence Bancorporation. As part of the merger, BancorpSouth Bank's name will change to Cadence Bank. With improving economic fundamentals, the bank is now, in our view, better positioned to benefit from the enhanced scale and expanded diversification the merger provides. This could help the company deepen its competitive position and increase market share. We also expect loan performance to remain relatively stable given the growing economy and recent improvements, despite the somewhat weaker asset quality in Cadence's loan portfolio. We revised the outlook on our ratings of BancorpSouth Bank to positive from stable to reflect our view that if the bank successfully integrates legacy Cadence, and is able to broaden
