Abstract:

Ares Capital Corp. (ARCC) has sustained strong operating results and further strengthened its funding profile and financial flexibility over the last 12 months. We are revising our outlook on ARCC to positive from stable. At the same time we are affirming our 'BBB-' issuer credit and debt ratings on ARCC. The positive outlook reflects the possibility we could raise the ratings over the next 12-18 months if ARCC maintains leverage below 1.5x debt to adjusted total equity, strong earnings, and sound investment portfolio performance. On July 24, 2019, S&P Global Ratings revised its outlook on Ares Capital Corp. (ARCC) to positive from stable. At the same time, we affirmed our 'BBB-' issuer credit and senior secured and senior unsecured issue
