SINGAPORE (Standard&Poor's) June 24, 2004--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services today raised the counterparty credit ratings on commercial banks in Thailand, in acknowledgement of the stronger performing economy, the relative improvements made to banks' financial profiles, and the expectation that this positive trend will continue. The following rating actions were taken: -- The long-term counterparty credit ratings on KASIKORNBANK Public Co. Ltd., Siam Commercial Bank Public Co. Ltd., and Bangkok Bank Public Co. Ltd. were raised to 'BB+' from 'BB'. The outlooks are positive. The banks' 'B' short-term counterparty credit ratings were affirmed. -- The long-term counterparty credit rating on Krung Thai Bank Public Co. Ltd. was raised to 'BB+' from 'BB', and the outlook was revised to stable
