TORONTO (Standard&Poor's) April 20, 2011--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services today said it affirmed its ratings, including its 'AA-' long-term and 'A-1+' short-term issuer credit ratings, on the Province of Ontario. At the same time, Standard&Poor's affirmed its 'AA-' senior unsecured issue ratings on the Ontario Electricity Financial Corporation. The outlook is stable. The ratings on the Province of Ontario reflect Standard&Poor's opinion of Ontario's economy, which rebounded in 2010, after bottoming out in mid-2009. The government estimates that real GDP rebounded by 2.8% in 2010 after declining by 3.6% in 2009. It expects that real GDP will continue to advance by 2.4% in 2011.
