About This Report

Abstract:

OVERVIEW As part of our ongoing surveillance, we have reviewed our ratings on Abanca's Spanish mortgage covered bond program and related issuances. In our view, the available credit enhancement is commensurate with the maximum potential collateral uplift above the jurisdictional supported rating level. On Feb. 9, 2017, we raised our long-term counterparty credit rating on Abanca to 'BB-' from 'B+', with a positive outlook. As a result, we are raising to 'A+' from 'A' our ratings on the program and related issuances. The stable outlook reflects that on Spain. MADRID (S&P Global Ratings) Feb. 27, 2017--S&P Global Ratings today raised to 'A+' from 'A' its credit ratings on the mortgage covered bonds ("cédulas hipotecarias") issued by Spain-based Abanca Corporación Bancaria
