Abstract:

TORONTO (Standard&Poor's) March 7, 2005--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services today said that it expects the upcoming opinion to be provided by the Province of Ontario's auditor, regarding the province's intended inclusion of C$3.9 billion in one-time revenues (as reported in Ontario's fiscal 2005 operating revenues), will not affect the ratings or outlook on the province. The provincial auditor is expected to provide an opinion on the province's fiscal 2005 Public Accounts to be released in the fall, including the treatment of the approximately C$3.9 billion in one-time revenues that arose from the elimination of the liability associated with non-utility generation power purchase agreements.
