NEW YORK (Standard&Poor's CreditWire) Oct. 28, 1999--Standard&Poor's today lowered its corporate credit and senior note ratings on Protection One Alarm Monitoring Inc. to double-'B' from triple-'B'-minus and subordinated and convertible note ratings to single-'B'-plus from double-'B'-plus. Standard&Poor's also lowered its senior unsecured shelf debt rating to preliminary double-'B' from preliminary triple-'B'-minus and its subordinated debt rating to preliminary single-'B'-plus from preliminary double-'B'-plus. The ratings for Protection One remain on CreditWatch with negative implications, where they were placed on Aug. 17, 1999.
