NEW YORK (Standard&Poor's CreditWire) Feb. 15, 2000--Standard&Poor's today assigned its preliminary triple-'A' rating to American Express Credit Account Master Trust Series 2000-2's US$412.5 million class A floating-rate asset-backed certificates, and its preliminary single-'A' rating to the US$40 million class B floating-rate asset-backed certificates. The preliminary ratings are based on information as of Feb. 15, 1999. Subsequent information may result in the assignment of final ratings that differ from the preliminary ratings. The preliminary ratings reflect: -- Credit enhancement levels of 17.5% for class A and 9.5% for class B; -- Strong historical portfolio performance; and -- Structural considerations, including subordination of interest payable to the collateral interest holder.
