About This Report

Abstract:

Peru continues to grow at high rates, underpinning the country's debt dynamics. The government has taken policy actions to bolster the country's ability to withstand external shocks, including establishing a Fiscal Stabilization Fund and building international reserves. As a result of the improved fundamentals, we are raising our long-term foreign currency rating on Peru to 'BBB+' from 'BBB' and our long-term local currency rating to 'A-' from 'BBB+'. The stable outlook reflects our expectation for continued economic growth as a result of investment in the energy and mining sectors. NEW YORK (Standard&Poor's) Aug. 19, 2013--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services today said it raised its long-term sovereign foreign currency rating on the Republic of Peru to 'BBB+' from 'BBB'
