NY -- Standard & Poor's CreditWire 5/24/96 -- Standard and Poor's today has raised its senior secured debt rating of Public Service Co. of Colorado (PSCo) to single-`A'-minus from triple-`B'-plus and preferred stock rating on the company to triple-`B'-plus from triple-`B'. Standard & Poor's has raised its rating on wholly owned subsidiary PS Colorado Credit Corp.'s senior unsecured debt to single-`A'-minus from triple- `B'-plus. Commercial paper ratings of PSCo and PS Colorado Credit have been affirmed at `A-2'. Ratings remain on CreditWatch with positive implications, where they were placed Aug. 28, 1995, pending a merger with Southwestern Public Service Co.
