NEW YORK (Standard&Poor's) Feb. 7, 2014--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services said today it raised its rating on Newington, Conn.'s general obligation (GO) bonds to 'AA+' from 'AA' based on the implementation of its local GO criteria published on Sept. 12, 2013. "The stable outlook reflects our expectation that Newington will maintain its very strong flexibility, supported by the town's historically strong performance and conservative budgeting approach," said Standard&Poor's credit analyst Ruth Ducret. A pledge of the town's full faith and credit secure these bonds.
