Standard&Poor's Ratings Services assigned its 'AAA' long-term rating to Minneapolis, Minn.'s series 2014 general obligation (GO) improvement bonds and series 2014 GO various purpose bonds. At the same time, we affirmed our 'AAA' long-term rating on the city's previously issued GO debt. The outlook is stable. The city's unlimited-tax GO pledge secures both series of bonds. The improvement bonds also are payable from special assessments, and the various purpose bonds also are payable from net revenue of the city's water system, but our rating is based on the unlimited-tax GO pledge.
