Peru-based micro-finance bank Mibanco's asset quality metrics have weakened over the past several quarters due to a deterioration in borrowers' debt-payment capacity. This is pressuring the bank's bottom-line results through higher provisions. However, the bank's current strategy is focused on attempting to reverse the deteriorating trend in asset quality metrics. We are revising the outlook to negative from stable and affirming our 'BBB/A-2' ratings on Mibanco. The negative outlook reflects Mibanco's continued asset quality metrics deterioration which pressures the bank's risk position.
