DALLAS (Standard&Poor's) Aug. 23, 2010-- Standard&Poor's Ratings Services raised its long-term and underlying rating (SPUR) to 'AA' from 'AA-' on Jefferson Parish School Board, La.'s existing sales tax school bonds secured by a 1/4-cent and 1/2-cent sales tax. At the same time, Standard&Poor's assigned its 'AA' rating to the school board's series 2010 sales tax (1/4%) school building bonds. The outlook is stable. "The raised ratings are based on our view of the board's significantly strengthened coverage levels," said Standard&Poor's credit analyst Brian Marshall.
