NEW YORK (Standard&Poor's CreditWire) Nov. 13, 2000--Standard&Poor's today affirmed its ratings on Hewlett-Packard Co. (see list below) and removed them from CreditWatch, where they were placed with negative implications on Sept. 12, 2000. The affirmation follows Hewlett-Packard's announcement that it has terminated discussions with PricewaterhouseCoopers regarding the potential acquisition of its consulting business. The outlook is stable. Hewlett-Packard's ratings reflect its position as a leading, global vendor of computer printers, computer systems and services, and peripherals. Revenues of $48.7 billion for fiscal 2000, ended Oct. 31, incorporated a dominant position in the laser/inkjet printer market and important positions in the personal computer and server markets. HP's historical financial performance has been very consistent, despite quarterly fluctuations
