NY -- Standard&Poor's CreditWire 11/2/98 -- Standard&Poor's today affirmed its ratings on Tyco International Ltd. and related entities (see list below). At the same time, Standard&Poor's raised its ratings on Graphic Controls Corp. and removed the ratings from CreditWatch, where they were placed Sept. 24, 1998 (see list below). The outlook on both companies is stable. The rating actions follow completion of Tyco International's acquisition of Graphic Controls for about $460 million in cash and assumed debt. The transaction will be accounted for as a purchase. Buffalo, N.Y.-based Graphic Controls is a manufacturer of disposable medical equipment including patient recording consumables, electrodes and accessories, items used in cardiology, and industrial recording supplies.
