Abstract:

NEW YORK (S&P Global Ratings) Jan. 31, 2023--S&P Global Ratings today assigned its 'A-3' short-term rating to Atlanta-based Global Payments Inc.'s (GPN, BBB-/Stable/A-3) new $2 billion commercial paper program. The company's $5.75 billion revolver that matures in August 2027 provides a full backstop for the commercial paper. Our assessment of GPN's liquidity as strong is unchanged, reflecting our expectation that it will maintain available committed revolver borrowing capacity while generating healthy free cash flows. GPN is a global payment technology solutions provider. Our 'BBB-' issuer credit rating reflects its large merchant payment processing platform, a diverse set of owned and partnered integrated ecommerce payment solutions, and a stable credit card issuer processing business with a leadership position in North America.
