About This Report

Abstract:

German airline Lufthansa's pension obligations have continued to increase throughout 2014, leading to weakening credit ratios. The company has also had some operating issues, including strikes by pilots, and increasing competition, which has put pressure on ticket prices. We anticipate that Lufthansa will take actions to mitigate the greater pension liability and to support its financial risk profile. We are therefore affirming the 'BBB-/A-3' ratings on Lufthansa. The stable outlook reflects our view that Lufthansa's financial ratios will improve in 2015, with adjusted funds from operations to debt at above 23%. LONDON (Standard&Poor's) Nov. 12, 2014--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services said today that it affirmed its 'BBB-/A-3' ratings on German airline Deutsche Lufthansa AG. The outlook is stable.
