About This Report

Abstract:

NEW YORK (S&P Global Ratings) July 28, 2022--S&P Global Ratings today assigned its 'BBB' issue-level rating to General Motors Co.'s proposed senior unsecured notes. These notes will rank equally with all of the company's other unsecured and unsubordinated debt. GM plans to allocate the net proceeds from the notes for investments and expenditures related to the design, development, or manufacture of clean transportation technology, such as battery electric vehicles, fuel-cell technology, and charging solutions. We rate the company's senior unsecured debt at the same level as our long-term issuer credit rating, which reflects the low risk that the senior unsecured debtholders will be significantly disadvantaged relative to its other lenders. GM's second-quarter 2022 performance and reaffirmed guidance for the year
