On Nov. 8, 2013, Standard&Poor's lowered its unsolicited long-term sovereign credit rating on the Republic of France to 'AA' from 'AA+'. We view France-based La Banque Postale (LBP) as a government-related entity and our rating on LBP takes into account the potential for extraordinary government support. We are consequently lowering our long-term rating on LBP to 'A' from 'A+' and affirming our 'A-1' short-term rating on the bank. The outlook on LBP is stable.
