About This Report

Abstract:

We are gaining confidence that a strengthening global economy makes a downgrade of U.S.-based diversified chemicals company DuPont less likely. As a result, we are affirming our ratings on DuPont, including its 'A' corporate credit and 'A-1' commercial paper ratings, and revising the outlook to stable from negative. The stable outlook reflects our view that while credit measures remain somewhat weak for the ratings, they should strengthen during the next one to two years because of higher earnings and cash flow and a likely gradual reduction in net debt. We believe that financial policies will support the achievement and maintenance of credit metrics appropriate for the ratings.
